- ➤ Today, the family-friendly Kids and Kritters Parade begins with registration at noon and the main event at 2 p.m. at the Casino Beach parking lot (free parking is available) near the Visitor Information Center, featuring a pre-parade show and prizes for costumed pets and mini floats. - ➤ Multiple cold weather shelters will open in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties starting Sunday, Jan. 25, to help residents cope with a rare winter storm that is set to drop temperatures nearly 50 degrees. - ➤ American Airlines will launch a season nonstop flight from Pensacola International Airport to LaGuardia in New York on Saturdays starting this summer, from June 20 to Sept. 5. The flight departs at 11:45 a.m. from Pensacola (arriving at 3:31 p.m. in New York). Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ Buffalo Rock Company opened its new Santa Rosa Campus in East Milton near I-10 & the Northwest Florida Industrial Park on Wednesday, creating 150-200 jobs and relocating 200 positions with above average pay. The 47-acre, 350,000 sqft facility is set up for future expansion as it serves 4,000 customers and runs 21,000 routes annually. WUWF
- ➤ ST Engineering – Pensacola Aerospace is expanding at Pensacola International Airport with a nearly complete third hangar and plans to design a fourth as part of a $210 million project set to create 1,700 jobs.
