  • Escambia County removed unsafe skate equipment at Chimes Way Park earlier this month due to public safety concerns and will replace it soon to serve local skaters + families.  Pensacola News Journal
  • Pensacola journalist Henry Grabar will lead a CivicCon discussion on Feb. 23 at the Consulate Upper Room of First United Methodist Church—examining how parking requirements drive up housing costs and limit walkable urban design.   • Pen-Taco-La, a new food truck replacing Tacos Mexicanos at 3000 N. 12th Ave, opened today in East Hill. Owner Pablo Hernandez designed the space to be dog-friendly & community-centered with a revamped menu led by Chef Gabriel Luna that will see more local specials in time.  Pensacola News Journal

  • West Florida High School’s Quinn Duong was named Student of the Week for Escambia & Santa Rosa counties after earning 56.9% of the vote for Feb. 9–13. New voting begins on Feb. 17 for next week’s honor.  Pensacola News Journal

  • Nominees for Florida Power & Light PNJ Athlete of the Week were announced today for Week 25, featuring top local athletes in baseball, basketball, lacrosse, tennis & soccer; voting closes 11 a.m. Saturday, after which winners will receive a PNJ shirt from BSN SPORTS.  Pensacola News Journal
