  • Pensacola Beach will host the 39th Annual St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl on Tuesday, March 17 with two themed routes and a new Lucky Lunch at The Landing from 12:30 to 3 p.m. The event starts at 9 a.m. at Crabs on the Beach and supports Covenant Care.  Local Pulse

  • The Pensacola Jewish community is celebrating Purim today with a party Tuesday night to honor a 2,500-year-old tale of survival amid tensions overseas.   • The Pensacola News Journal announced the Student of the Week for Escambia and Santa Rosa County for Feb. 23 to 27. Pine Forest High School's Seneca Culberson won with 85.98% of the vote while voting for next week's winners starts today (March 3).  Pensacola News Journal

  • Today, Florida residents can catch the only total lunar eclipse of 2026 as a rare blood moon peaks at 6:38 a.m. ET (the eclipse begins at 3:44 a.m. ET but full totality is not visible due to the low horizon).  Pensacola News Journal

  • NAS Pensacola and Corry Station closed their gates on March 2 after social media claimed the base was on lockdown; however, officials did not confirm any threat, leaving nearby residents with unanswered questions.  Pensacola News Journal

  • Fork Cancer Gala returns on Apr. 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Supposey Warehouse and Gardens as organizers aim to raise $175,000 for free rides through the Road to Recovery program. Last year, the event generated $152,000, helping more than 1,000 cancer patients access treatment.  Local Pulse

  • Mortgage rates fell below 6% on March 2 — a level not seen since 2022 — and local Realtors in the Panhandle reported stronger buyer activity along with a surge in pending sales that is boosting Florida’s housing market.  Pensacola News Journal
