COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Due to heightened security concerns from international conflict, the Blue Angels canceled early shows at NAF El Centro and NAS Lemoore and will open their season with the NAS Meridian Air Show on March 28 to 29. Regular practices in Pensacola will begin on March 31.  Pensacola News Journal

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Pensacola’s newest Aldi store opened Thursday, March 5 at 7135 N. Ninth Ave in a former Winn-Dixie location. The grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony and goodie bag giveaways to the first 200 shoppers, and a fifth store is planned along Blue Angel Parkway.  Pensacola News Journal

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Since Monday, Florida's gas prices have risen 36 cents, with regular gas at $3.241 on Thursday amid the Iran war. Pensacola stations hold some of the state's lowest prices at $2.945 while higher prices appear in West Palm Beach, with analysts hopeful that the hikes may soon ease.  Pensacola News Journal
  • Regular gas in Pensacola has risen nearly 36 cents since March 2, now averaging $3.24 per gallon, according to AAA; experts expect prices to rise further in the coming weeks due to seasonal trends and tighter supply (analyst estimate).  Pensacola News Journal
