  • The annual Clover Pick A Bowl Fill A Bowl event shattered records by raising ($78,694) to provide 47,216 meals for local families, seniors, children, and veterans.   • Environmental tests confirmed that the thick, black stains found on Opal Beach and nearby areas were a natural spring algal bloom, not oil, after citizen Elizabeth Adams raised the alarm on March 12.   • Starting July 1, a new state law requires new high school athletes to complete an ECG and physical exam before playing.
