- ➤ Pensacola will host the largest fireworks show for America’s 250th on Saturday, July 4 at Bayfront Parkway, organized by Pensacola Young Professionals & Greater Pensacola Chamber. - ➤ The 2026 Clover Pick A Bowl Fill A Bowl event raised $78,694 for Manna Food Bank, which will provide 47,216 healthy meals in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Local sponsors + vendors organized the fundraiser to honor Bill Clover’s legacy. Local Pulse
- ➤ Pensacola’s Jermaine J. Williams, a peer recovery specialist who has helped answer 1,000+ crisis calls and is running for mayor, will be honored as the 2026 Peer Specialist of the Year by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. - ➤ Florida gas prices dipped over the weekend amid volatile fuel markets linked to the Iran War, but experts warn they may rise soon. Pensacola drivers saw regular gasoline at an average of 3.682 per gallon on Monday morning as spikes elsewhere continue to affect costs. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ Studer Community Institute hosts a leadership workshop with Doug Bates of Clark Partington today at the Maritime Building, where attendees will learn active listening strategies to improve team communication and leadership. Rick's Blog
- ➤ The UWF Board of Trustees will consider adding a $48 material fee and a $50 equipment fee for Mechanical Engineering courses and raising the athletic fee by $2 per credit hour at a meeting on Thursday, April 23, at 9 a.m. If approved, the fees will take effect in Fall 2026. - ➤ West Pensacola Elementary School earned a B rating after more than 22 years of lower scores. Principal Christine Baker said a new sixth-grade program keeps students on campus for an extra year to ease the transition to middle school. WEAR-TV

- ➤ NAS Pensacola has closed public access to its museum, lighthouse and Blue Angels flight line on weekdays due to new security measures; only visitors with a (Department of War ID) may enter, and the first practice flight is set for next Tuesday. WEAR-TV

- ➤ Pensacola is hosting its first International WASZP Games as 71 foiling sailors from 12 countries race on WASZP boats (Tuesday through Saturday); local 13-year-old Alejandro Galavis will debut among competitors making their first trip to the Bay. FOX 10
