  • Pensacola's top burger spots advanced to the Elite Eight in the PNJ Burger Bracket contest after winning the Sweet 16 round (March 10th–15th) based on over 500 votes, and readers can vote on matchups until 2 p.m. Saturday (final winners to be revealed on April 14th) as the contest continues.  Pensacola News Journal

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A semi-truck crashed on I-10 West near mile marker 7 in Escambia County Monday morning around 8:10 a.m.—all lanes were blocked and FDOT has not released additional details.  WEAR-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Disney on Ice’s 'Mickey’s Search Party' will take place at Pensacola Bay Center from March 28 to March 30 — the show has five performances that mix skating, acrobatics and Mickey Mouse’s search for Tinker Bell. Ticket prices will range from $15 to $75 and a pre-show character experience with Moana is available for an extra fee — the venue enforces a clear bag policy with a 12” x 12” x 6” size limit.  Pensacola News Journal
  • DRIFT will host Pearls & Grapes: A Wine & Oyster Experience on Tuesday, April 15th, where guests will enjoy a guided tasting of three oyster preparations paired with select wines and a presentation by Pensacola Bay Oyster Co. The event begins at 5:00 PM at DRIFT (41 Fort Pickens Rd, Pensacola Beach) and tickets cost $66 excluding tax and fees.  Rick's Blog

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Postal workers in Pensacola gathered on Sunday to protest plans that will privatize the United States Postal Service and cut 10,000 jobs as part of efforts to reduce its 78 billion dollar annual operating costs. Protesters said that merging the agency with the Commerce Department and offering an early retirement program would harm rural mail delivery and the service’s long tradition.  WEAR-TV
