- ➤ Sugar Daddy Donuts opened today at Pensacola Beach near the Dock beach bar at 4 Casino Beach Boardwalk, offering warm, customizable miniature doughnuts with family sauce (their secret recipe), coffee, smoothies and lemonades. - ➤ American Racing Challenger Team USA acquired key America’s Cup sailing assets (AC75 yacht Patriot and two AC40 platforms) from American Magic to bolster its campaign for the 38th America’s Cup in spring 2027 in Naples. - ➤ Pensacola native Keyla Richardson advanced to the Top 9 on American Idol after her standout performance on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night on Monday, April 13. Local fans and Mayor D.C. Reeves supported her with watch parties and signed cards. Pensacola News Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Construction on Palafox Street has brought expanded sidewalks, enhanced ADA access, and improved stormwater management to downtown Pensacola since January. The city expects work to finish by late-May with a possible soft opening. WEAR-TV
- ➤ Mayor Reeves said that the EPA expects to provide $8.6 million for Phase 1 cleanup of the former American Creosote Works site in Sanders Beach, a key step in the $48 million effort to remove contaminated soil and secure residential areas before redevelopment. WUWF

- ➤ Pensacola and Community Health Northwest Florida have approved a plan to return medical and dental care to the 2,810-sqft building at 801 W. Avery St. The renovated office will open within a year once renovations are complete, following a unanimous City Council agreement. Pensacola News Journal
