BUSINESS NEWS

  • American Cruise Lines will launch its new Gulf Coast Cruise from Pensacola on March 7 with tickets starting at $4,880, offering an eight-day trip that stops in Mobile, Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, Biloxi, and New Orleans—four trips in March will run with two departures from Pensacola.  Pensacola News Journal
  • Mondelez International will build a new distribution center at Northwest Florida Industrial Park in Santa Rosa County as it leaves its Pensacola warehouse (located on N 14th Ave) and joins Damian's Ice Cream, Hershey's Ice Cream and Buffalo Rock in relocating. This move makes it the fourth company to shift from Escambia County.  WEAR-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • Tiffany Daniels, a 25-year-old last seen at Pensacola State College in August 2013, went missing after she told her boss she needed a few days away and her car was later found near Fort Pickens. Nearly 12 years later, her family and investigators—including private investigator Brandi Mitchell—are pursuing new local leads that suggest someone she knew may be involved.  WEAR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Rep. Andrade said he ended his probe into Medicaid funds after key witnesses refused to testify and revealed that Jeff Aaron and James Uthmeier moved millions through nonprofits to a political committee — he will propose policy changes next session to address the misuse.  Rick's Blog

SPORTS NEWS

  • Florida district softball tournaments will begin on April 28 and conclude by May 1, with district brackets set as top area teams including Pace, Escambia, West Florida and Jay prepare for regionals starting May 7 or 8.
