  • On April 25, the annual Flora-Bama Interstate Mullet Toss—held at the Flora-Bama Lounge and Package on Perdido Key Drive—drew a large crowd with contests for kids and adults. The event will continue through today with multiple toss rounds and awards as a $20 fee per toss benefits local charities.  Pensacola News Journal
  • The Pensacola Beach sailfish welcome sign has been updated after 64 years and now reads Gulf of America with the word America filled with an American flag pattern.   • Escambia County Sheriff's Office identified 20-year-old Andrew Sanders as the victim in a suspected homicide — his body was found Friday in an empty field near the intersection of Currier Place and Salem Drive after he was last seen on the 200 block of Washburn Street.  WEAR-TV

  • Crawfish lovers are enjoying the 40th Annual Pensacola Crawfish Festival at Seville Square as the three-day event features food, music, crafts, and 20,000 pounds of crawfish downtown.  Pensacola News Journal
  • A local guide lists a busy week of events starting tomorrow with Monday Night Blues at Seville Quarter and a tribute to Red Skelton at Saenger Theatre — events that will kick off a week full of concerts, festivals and community activities in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. The schedule will include the Pensacola Beach Crawfish Festival marking its 25th anniversary, Bands on the Beach, the Yancy Spencer III Memorial Surf Contest and a memorial ceremony for Pvt.
