- ➤ A Pensacola tenant suffered sewage flooding in her Tiki Lane apartment for two weeks after an overflowing septic tank started backing up three days after she moved in, and her landlord has not responded for nearly a month. She has contacted local agencies and was forced to shut off her water while the Florida Department of Environmental Protection handles a sanitary nuisance investigation—she hopes for a permanent fix soon. - ➤ Just before 3 p.m. Saturday, first responders at Pensacola Beach rescued a juvenile near the Casino Beach Boardwalk and transported them by ambulance to a local hospital — their condition remains unknown. WEAR-TV

- ➤ In a few weeks, Navarre High senior Brylee Ponce and West Florida Tech senior Amanda Edgar will earn their high school diplomas and associate degrees in May through Florida’s Dual Enrollment Program. - ➤ Pensacola High School student Murray Turner was named Escambia and Santa Rosa County Student of the Week for April 21-25 after receiving 63.66% of the vote; voting for next week’s winner will begin on Tuesday, April 29. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ Escambia County is planning to spend $25 million on upgrades at John R. Jones sports complex to convert 20 fields to artificial turf at $1 million each—aiming to boost Pensacola's sports tourism.
