- ➤ After 1,500 beagles were rescued from a Wisconsin research facility last week, about 1,000 are being sent to rescue groups in the Panhandle while 500 remain for adoption in Wisconsin. Local Alaqua Animal Refuge has taken in 20 dogs and plans to help them adjust to outdoor life. FOX 10
- ➤ Furry Friends of the Panhandle Rescue on South E Street is holding a half-priced dog adoption event today from noon to 3 p.m. as rising dog abandonment strains their shelter, which risks closing at month-end unless more adoptions help clear space. WEAR-TV
- ➤ Due to forecast storms, Pensacola Navy Days postponed its parade, 4K run/walk & Family Fun Fest scheduled for today at Plaza DeLuna; Friday programs and Sunday’s Modern Eldorados Mother’s Day Concert remain on track while organizers plan a new date. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ Sam Young + Tom Vaughn were named 2026 Ethics in Business Award winners by UWF Lewis Bear Jr. College of Business and the Combined Rotary Clubs at a luncheon at the Pensacola Yacht Club.
