- ➤ Pensacola International Airport will launch a new nonstop flight to Houston operated by Spirit Airlines starting July 9 through August 12, offering seasonal travel for Pensacola visitors. Spirit will run flights twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays—providing another option for those traveling between the two cities. WEAR-TV
- ➤ Martha D. Saunders and Kevin Green were named the 2025 Ethics in Business Award winners at the Pensacola Yacht Club—Saunders leads UWF while Green owns The Butcher Shoppe and has backed Rotary fundraisers for nearly ten years. - ➤ An Orange Beach man, 20-year-old Wyatt Cole Watson, was arrested for DUI manslaughter after driving his SUV the wrong way on U.S. 98 near Halcyon Circle around 1:34 a.m. Friday—causing a head-on collision in Escambia County that killed a 55-year-old man from Lillian and injured Watson before he was taken to jail. - ➤ Pensacola police reported two jugging incidents this week where suspects followed victims after large cash withdrawals and broke into vehicles to steal money — police said no one was injured and the victims never encountered the suspects face-to-face. FOX 10

- ➤ On May 5, the Pensacola City Council approved updated plans to redevelop three city areas with 62 projects costing over $146 million—aiming to improve housing, streets, parks, and local businesses over the next 20 years. Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ Pensacola native Patrick Hill was named the Naval Education and Training Command's 2024 Sailor of the Year at a ceremony on Friday onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola.
