  • The Pensacola Civic Band will host the 11th Annual Memorial Day Concert on Monday, May 25 at 1 p.m. at Hunter Amphitheater (behind Blue Wahoos Stadium) where patriotic music, food trucks and Kona Ice will bring the community together to honor military service.  Local Pulse
  • U.S. News & World Report released its 2026 to 2027 Best Places to Live rankings, naming Parkland the highest-ranked Florida city at 14th overall among 250 cities based on job market, quality of life, and affordability.   • Pensacola will hold a small business ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday as Palafox Street opens to pedestrians, marking the end of phase one of the $10.7 million project & vehicle traffic set to return on June 1 while work on side streets continues into summer.  Pensacola News Journal

  • Florida requires all new high school athletes to have an ECG screening before practice. Gulf Breeze High School will host a screening event on June 6 provided by a local nonprofit (charges are $20 unless waived for eligible families).  WEAR-TV
  • Council on Aging of West Florida will host the annual Senior Chill Out on Friday, June 5 at five Lowe’s stores including those on Fairfield Drive, Airport Boulevard, and Nine Mile Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to collect donations of air conditioners, fans, and funds for vulnerable seniors; interested individuals aged 60 and older can call (850) 432-1475 starting June 5 for details.  Local Pulse
