- ➤ The Escambia County Sheriff's Office investigated a drive-by shooting on Saturday morning when deputies responded to reports of gunfire on Devane Street in Pensacola — they found a camper trailer was targeted but no injuries were reported and investigators are now searching for suspects. - ➤ Downtown Pensacola came alive Saturday as the Saenger Theater celebrated its 100th anniversary with a street party—featuring local nonprofits, food trucks, and two screenings of the silent version of The Phantom of the Opera. - ➤ At a Tennessee wedding on May 20, country singer Jamey Johnson's longtime friend Nan Foster of Milton's The Cutting Board catered the event with Panhandle specialties like Seafood Sensation to about 350 guests including Kid Rock and Randy Travis. - ➤ The Pensacola City Council approved a land lease for the $3M Rafferty Center last Thursday—allowing the Southern Youth Sports Association, led by Commissioner Lumon May, to build a state-of-the-art facility for underserved kids using private donations and a state grant.
