A 17-year-old Navarre teen riding an electric scooter collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Frankfort Street and Hemlock Drive in Santa Rosa County this afternoon and was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

The Pensacola City Council approved a land lease for the $3M Rafferty Center last Thursday—allowing the Southern Youth Sports Association, led by Commissioner Lumon May, to build a state-of-the-art facility for underserved kids using private donations and a state grant.

The agreement guarantees public access Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and assigns the city a maintenance cost of about $52,500 a year.
