- ➤ Early Sunday morning, a man was shot in the thigh outside a Valero gas station near Black Diamond Sports Lounge on Highway 29 and taken to a local hospital for treatment of a broken femur and other serious injuries — the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. WEAR-TV

- ➤ Licensed childcare centers in Escambia County are struggling with staffing shortages since COVID, leaving 275 children on waiting lists and forcing centers to offer bonuses & raises to keep credentialed workers. - ➤ Romeo, a manatee over 70 years old and the oldest known, arrived at Gulfarium’s Manatee Cove as part of a statewide conservation effort—he was cared for nearly 18 months by veterinarians.
