- ➤ On Saturday, the Five Flags Amateur Radio Association held a 24-hour Radio Field Day in Pensacola to show how operators set up emergency communications at hospitals and food centers when cell phones and power fail. Volunteers, including 12-year-old Francis Solomon, highlighted the need for new licensed HAMs as hurricane season nears — Pensacola State College will offer a certification class in September.
