Good morning, Pensacola. Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 1st of July.

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The National Hurricane Center said a disturbance will stall later this week over Florida and may bring heavy rain and gusty winds with a low chance for tropical development — if it strengthens, the next Atlantic storm will be named Chantal. Residents along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts are urged to check weather updates as rough surf and rip currents could affect Fourth of July plans.  Pensacola News Journal
