- ➤ This week, Pensacola saw four new restaurants open in June while Gov. DeSantis vetoed $8.2 million in local projects including funds for a gunshot detection system and four local women were charged in a $14.6 billion healthcare fraud scheme. An old floral shop on South Navy Boulevard was knocked down to clear the way for a planned Circle K—Navy Federal Credit Union is also not required to refund $80 million in overdraft fees after the CFPB ended its consent order. - ➤ A 61-year-old McDavid man died when he was struck from behind by a Honda sedan while riding his lawnmower in the northbound lane of US-29 near East Bogia Road in Escambia County on Friday night - troopers said the 18-year-old McKenzie woman driving the sedan was not injured and the investigation is ongoing. - ➤ Two people were hit by a car on Perdido Key Drive near River Road just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning and Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene—helicopters were called off mid-flight and the road was shut down. WEAR-TV

- ➤ Four Pensacola women were indicted for over a decade of controlled substance fraud when they printed fake prescriptions using their clinic’s DEA numbers and sold thousands of pills + they are part of a nationwide healthcare fraud case that charged 324 defendants and seized over $245 million in cash and assets. - ➤ On Saturday at 1:18 p.m., an argument over a broken TV turned violent in Escambia County when a son allegedly shot his father between Lakewood Road and Alba Plena Street — deputies have detained the suspect and EMS responded while the victim’s condition remains unknown. WEAR-TV
