Fans filled Pensacola Beach on Friday, July 17 to watch the annual Blue Angels air show, where the famed naval pilots performed impressive aerial maneuvers and local vendors sold souvenirs.

The event brought the community together under sunny skies.

Blue Angels fans questioned why the No. 3 jet skipped rehearsals after a low pass at Pensacola Beach Air Show; Acting Secretary Hung Cao confirmed the safety review was completed without discipline and said the pilot (Navy Lt. Chris Houben) remains uncertain for Saturday's show.

Pensacola's historic Saenger Theatre launches its 2026 Summer Movie Series with a screening of Jaws (1975) on July 26 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $7 and local musicians will perform on the vintage 1925 Robert Morton Theatre Organ before the film while themed concessions are offered.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a low-pressure system in the Gulf that is moving north and will bring heavy rain to the Tampa Bay area & Panhandle today.

Forecasters note the chance of a tropical storm is low and advise residents to stay updated.
