During Saturday's Blue Angels airshow on Pensacola Beach, EMS crews set up an air-conditioned field hospital (in a casino beach parking lot) to treat heat-related emergencies as temperatures hit the 90s, while lifeguards, firefighters, and UTVs were ready to help.

Downtown Pensacola's Whataburger has been closed since March while a major rebuild progresses (steady work is ongoing).

When complete, the updated restaurant will welcome fans for their late-night shakes.

Cook and A.K. Suter will take off-campus Bible classes offered by LifeWise Academy starting Aug. 31; N.B. Cook classes run at McIlwain Memorial Presbyterian Church and A.K. Suter classes at Heights Baptist Church, with parental approval required.

Escambia County Public Schools has formed a committee to right size the district and will begin meetings in September to advise on school closures and rezoning with recommendations expected for the board in November.
