  • Naval Air Station Pensacola announced that premium seating tickets for the Blue Angels 2025 Homecoming Airshow went on sale at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1 on its official website - tickets are available for either November 7 or November 8.   • High Noon announced a recall of its Beach Variety 12-packs after some cans were mislabeled as non-alcoholic Celsius energy drinks – consumers in Florida and other states are advised to contact High Noon for a refund and further instructions to avoid unintentional alcohol consumption.  Pensacola News Journal
  • Jupiter Bach spent $4.2M to expand its Pensacola facility by adding 20,000 square feet and advanced crane systems to improve safety, boost production by 50%, and create room for 100 additional jobs to meet growing wind turbine cover demand. CRIME NEWS

  • Dr. Francis Herrbold, a Pensacola thoracic surgeon, was sentenced to eight years in state prison and three years of sex offender probation for assaulting a friend on a yacht in 2023—he climbed the yacht’s side to enter the locked cabin while the victim slept.  Pensacola News Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mayor Reeves said he is investing in place and expanding childcare access to help keep young talent in Pensacola. He explained that many young residents now choose where to live before finding jobs—an approach he believes will support local growth and reflect his own positive memories of the city.  Rick's Blog
  • Blue Angels will practice at NAS Pensacola three times in August—on August 20, 26, and 27—with autograph sessions on August 20 and 27 held at the National Naval Aviation Museum. Visitors can watch from the museum flight line starting at 9:30 a.m., with practices beginning at 10:30 a.m. on each day.  Pensacola News Journal

  • Robert Youens, a 71 year old from Texas, broke the Great Loop record by finishing the 6000 mile journey in 19 days, 13 hours and one minute and landed in Pensacola Thursday night in his 16 foot Jon boat, Ageless Wanderer—he announced his historic feat on Facebook.  Pensacola News Journal
