ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An 18-year-old Pensacola bicyclist was critically injured in a crash at the intersection of Olive Road and Charter Oaks Drive on August 6th at 12:45 p.m. when a 34-year-old Pensacola man driving a black sedan failed to yield the right of way and the injured cyclist was rushed to Sacred Heart Hospital. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Calvin Thomas Jr., 30, and Satori Ashanti Keys, 45, both from Pensacola, were indicted on federal drug trafficking charges — including distribution of fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana along with a firearm offense — and if convicted they could face a life sentence; they are set for arraignment on August 12th at 11 a.m. in federal court. - ➤ Clifford Humphrey was named the University of West Florida’s vice president of strategic initiatives and chief of staff on Aug. 4 and will advise Interim President Manny Diaz Jr. to drive key projects and operations—he joins UWF from the Florida Department of Education. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ More than 2,200 households have signed up for Pensacola's new recycling program and the city has collected 24,000 pounds of recyclables with a 6% contamination rate — a major improvement from earlier challenges with staffing and delayed pick-ups.
