- ➤ NFL Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks gave school supplies to O.J. Semmes Elementary School on Saturday—his foundation provided 400 bookbags and more than 250 Chromebooks to help students start the school year prepared. - ➤ On Saturday morning, Escambia County deputies responded to a shooting at a home on Castlegate Drive in Ensley—where a man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound and a woman was detained as the investigation continues. WEAR-TV
- ➤ The Department of Justice convicted 22 previously deported foreign nationals for illegally reentering the country after removal across several North Florida counties—including Pensacola and Tallahassee—after encounters from February to June. The convictions were part of a coordinated federal and local enforcement effort under Operation Take Back America. WEAR-TV
