- ➤ On Saturday, Pensacola residents gathered at Hollis T. Williams Park during the two-day Party in the Park event where live music, games, and mural painting engaged families and neighbors. City officials said the celebration supported a 20-year vision for park upgrades—collecting community feedback with surveys. WEAR-TV
- ➤ WSRE held an open house on Saturday—after federal and state cuts removed $1.5 million and $370,000 from its budget—and many locals showed up to support the station, which costs about $5 million a year and still had enough funds to finish this year’s programs. WEAR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On August 16th, Mayor D.C. Reeves said Pensacola’s opt‑in curbside recycling service reached 2,700 households — about 13% participation — and gathered 42,000 pounds of clean recyclables, surpassing its 10% target for the first month.
