- ➤ The Landrum 5K Run/Walk will take place on Oct. 11 at 8 a.m. from the Landrum office on E. Garden Street in downtown Pensacola to raise funds for Lakeview Center, which offers mental health, substance use, and intellectual disability services. - ➤ Pensacola Eggfest will feature cook teams led by Chef Matthew Brown and Melinda from River Woods Ranch as they showcase Cracker Cows beef on November 16 at Hadji Temple+ a pop-up tasting at The Farm of Pensacola is set for October 5 to help teams prepare and raise money for local charities. - ➤ In July, embattled surgeon Ben Brown sold his Gulf Breeze home for $2.4 million, leaving the new owner with an illegal pool enclosure that a zoning board approved by a 7—2 vote pending County Commission approval; Brown faces manslaughter charges for his wife's death. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ A Drag Queen Christmas show, an adults-only event from a nationwide tour, will perform two days before Christmas at Pensacola’s city-owned Saenger Theatre — drawing strong community debate over its portrayal of Christian traditions. Councilman Jared Moore said the theatre’s management does not require council approval & warned that canceling the show would lead to litigation. WEAR-TV

- ➤ On Thursday, Pensacola City Council met to hear protests by more than a dozen residents who urged cancelling a Christmas-themed drag show at the city-owned Saenger Theatre while expressing concerns over its offensive content. City Attorney Adam Cobb warned that canceling the event would expose the city to legal risks—citing contractual and constitutional protections—that prevented any immediate cancellation. WUWF
- ➤ On September 10, the Escambia Children’s Trust board chose a rollback millage rate of 0.03798 mills to lower taxes for children programs after a heated debate over spending priorities. Community members later questioned high administrative costs and the lack of discussion on a nearly 65K check from Pensacola Little Theatre while the trust has asked the auditor general to review the issues.
