- ➤ The Gulf Coast Jazz Festival is wrapping up today in Pensacola—organizers fear it may end permanently after the Escambia Tourist Development Council rejected a $250,000 funding request in August. - ➤ An appeals court ruling struck down the state ban on openly carrying firearms and has created legal confusion because existing laws ban concealed guns in places such as jails, bars and police stations—restrictions that may not apply to open carry.
