COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Oct.9, ICE and FHP raided Outerspaces Landscapes in Pensacola and arrested several workers—this was the first large immigration raid in the city since new enforcement measures began. McAlister’s Deli will open its first Pensacola restaurant soon at Blue Angel Plaza, 100 Buffet had a soft opening on Oct.10, Pensacola was named a top small city by Conde Nast Traveler, and Oar House marked 20 years with new improvements—showing many changes in our local community.  Pensacola News Journal

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Developers submitted a proposal to Escambia County on Oct 7 for a new smoke shop that will sell CBD and hemp products at 4117 Barrancas Ave at the intersection with South Second Street in Warrington—if approved, the project will add about 10 parking spaces and a window decal facing Barrancas Avenue.  Pensacola News Journal

  • Seven Days Out offers a guide to upcoming entertainment events in Pensacola and nearby counties—covering fall zipline tours, live concerts, family festivals and Halloween activities with details on dates, times and locations for each event.  Pensacola News Journal
  • The Pensacola Symphony Orchestra started in 1926 and began its 100th season on Oct.4 with guest pianist Chaeyoung Park, and will hold its 100th Anniversary Gala Concert on April 25 at the Saenger Theatre — the group also offers free shows in parks and libraries and runs programs for young music lovers.  Pensacola News Journal

  • Pensacola area high school football Week 8 ended with Escambia's dominant 46 to 6 win over Pensacola — quarterback Billy Dunn threw five touchdowns while Pace's Brooks Washington and Northview's Caleb Levins also had strong games.
