- ➤ On Oct. 12, visitors enjoyed Holland Farms Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Milton where they experienced a corn maze, pumpkin patch, giant slide, and train ride—an event that brought families together; the park remained open until November 2. Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ The Pensacola Humane Society will host Barktoberfest at Seville Square on Oct. 18 beginning at 10 a.m. to help abused, neglected and abandoned pets find new homes. The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare will hold its Howl-o-Ween event on Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Animal Welfare and Adoption Center where adoption fees are waived+ except for a $15 licensing charge. - ➤ The Santa Rosa Band of the Lower Muscogee will open its Creek Heritage Center next year at 3300 Beloved Path—an eco-friendly facility set on a 4.5-acre site near Jones Swamp Wetland Preserve. The center will feature a greenhouse for growing spartina and a Learning Grove for hands-on nature education, with support from county conservation projects along Jones Creek. Pensacola News Journal
