- ➤ Kate Peabody lost her husband in 2015 and her son in 2023 but the Pensacola community helped her through hard times, and she now runs a ministry—The Village Hands—to give clothes, diapers, bedding, and toys to families in need. Her ministry will hold a winter coat giveaway on Nov. 8 at Jehovah Lutheran Church. Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ Three days ago, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Cuba as a category three storm — nearly 900 displaced service members and families were evacuated to NAS Pensacola. A Pensacola Ice Flyers game on Saturday offered free tickets — hot meals and travel coordination to help lift the community's spirits while cleanup continues. WEAR-TV
- ➤ Transformation Church on Mobile Highway partnered with Undue Medical Debt to wipe out $6.5M in unpaid medical bills for 4,400 low-income Escambia residents—notification letters will be sent in November. The church used a $40,000 donation to help those who earn less than four times the federal poverty level or whose debt equals 5 percent of their annual income. Pensacola News Journal

Monday night begins with blues at Seville Quarter and later community movie nights, markets and festivals like the Greek Festival and Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival will offer live music, art and food—bringing local culture to residents—across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
