- ➤ John and Jeremy Reams are set to transform Dirt Cheap's old home at Ferry Pass Plaza into an indoor family entertainment park that will open in September. The 31,000-square-foot center will offer arcade games, bowling, indoor trampolines, obstacle courses & more under the Launch Entertainment brand. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ The Pensacola News Journal named Liam Brown from Navarre High School as Student of the Week for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties for November 3 to 7 after he received 37.99 percent of the vote with Hannah Nguyen in second place. - ➤ Escambia County’s Head Start program will continue serving 469 children and 281 on the waiting list after Dec. 1 despite uncertainty over a $7.6 million federal grant caused by the shutdown. The agency said it will seek other funding if needed and is facing a shortage of certified early education teachers—challenges that could affect its future operations. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ Pensacola City Council will vote today at 3:30 p.m. on the $10.7 million Reimagine Palafox Street project that will widen sidewalks — add brick pavers, trees, and upgraded stormwater systems — and temporarily close the street from Jan 5 through May 24 if approved. Some business owners worry the construction zone might reduce customer traffic, but officials say the changes will boost pedestrian safety and accessibility. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ Local high school sports are in full swing as fall teams shift to postseason play and winter events begin, with seven Pensacola football teams set to start playoffs Friday and athletes competing in state championships for golf, swimming, and cross country.
