- ➤ On Saturday, retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant David Post returned to the panhandle after moving into a specially adapted home built by Homes for Our Troops—an organization that builds accessible homes for injured veterans. Post, who was injured by an IED in Afghanistan, will pursue a degree in electrical engineering while his fiancé remodeled their home for his mobility needs. WEAR-TV

- ➤ The University of West Florida named Interim President Manny Diaz Jr. as the sole finalist for permanent president—he is the first president without a doctorate and the Board of Trustees will hold public forums and interviews before his appointment is confirmed by the Florida Board of Governors. - ➤ The University of West Florida Presidential Search Committee has named Manny Diaz Jr. as the sole finalist for the next president after he served as interim president since July—his leadership in higher education and policymaking made him a strong candidate.
