- ➤ Pensacola is celebrating the holidays this week with events ranging from Winterfest at the Old County Courthouse to a downtown Christmas Parade featuring a pre-parade dash, boat parade, and festive concerts at local venues — all offering markets, crafts, and treats. Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ Yesterday, the Pensacola community held a USO fundraiser 5K at the airport where nearly 800 runners supported military members—while an 8th annual Harley-Davidson bike bash began a drive to donate bikes, scooters, and roller skates to local military families until Dec. 13. WEAR-TV

- ➤ Games and Grub, a new video game restaurant in West Pensacola, opened at 1000 Gulf Beach Highway on Nov. 28. - ➤ B'nai Israel Synagogue on Ninth Avenue will hold a Southern Chanukah Celebration on Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. — offering southern-style kosher dishes and a screening of Driving Miss Daisy as part of the eight-day festivities starting Dec. 14. Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ On Dec. 7, 1941, Pensacola heard news of the Pearl Harbor attack and reacted with shock plus steps for city defense as the mayor declared a state of emergency and airfields shifted to a wartime role. Historian Hill Goodspeed later recalled how the city moved from disbelief to determined action. Pensacola News Journal
