  • Escambia County Fire Rescue urged residents to follow space heater and carbon monoxide safety tips as below-freezing temperatures will begin Sunday, Dec. 14.   • The U.S. Navy announced on Dec. 12, 2025 the new pilot lineup for the 2026 Blue Angels air show season — with Capt. Adam Bryan as Flight Leader and Lt. Cam Schneider as Right Wing pilot among others. The team is set to perform at future local events.  Pensacola News Journal
  • The Pensacola Children's Chorus will perform 'Christmas on the Coast' at the Saenger Theatre in downtown Pensacola this holiday season. The event will share festive music to spread Christmas cheer among local families.  Pensacola News Journal
  • Pensacola native Roman Reigns appears as Akuma — the iconic Street Fighter villain — in a teaser trailer unveiled at the 2026 Game Awards on Dec. 11; the live-action film will debut in theaters on Oct. 16.  Pensacola News Journal

  • During a lengthy city council meeting on Thursday, residents crowded chambers and Councilman Wiggins voted against an advisory contract for the Baptist redevelopment project after calls for transparency and anti-displacement protections, prompting officials to defer redevelopment while hospital demolition proceeds separately.  Rick's Blog
  • Escambia County Fire Rescue added the third red bulb to its Keep the Wreath Green wreath after a residential fire on Dec. 10 in the 900 block of Hansen Blvd. The campaign displays five-foot wreaths at fire stations and government buildings (including city hall) to remind residents of fire risks.  Escambia County
  • Escambia County recognized Brent Wipf as the 2025 Employee of the Year during the Dec. 11 Board of County Commissioners meeting. Wipf, who leads the Water Quality and Land Management Division, has served the county for over two decades.  Escambia County

  • Nearly 60 Floridians spoke on Friday in Panama City Beach over plans to end PreK-12 vaccine requirements, while state health officials proposed making vaccinations voluntary. Students choosing shots would still get them free-of-charge.  WEAR-TV
