- ➤ Escambia County will begin construction in January 2026 on the Pensacola Beach Gateway Improvements Project to replace the Bob Sikes Toll Plaza with a new toll gantry, CCTV cameras, and fiber optic communications. Traffic will be affected on Pensacola Beach as lane closures and detours may occur during work hours — some work may also happen at night and on weekends. Escambia County
