About this event

UWF Trail Recovery - Weekend Volunteer Work Days

Date: Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026

Time: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Location: UWF Mountain Bike Trailhead – PORC Tent

Help PORC continue recovering the UWF trail system from hurricane damage!

We're organizing volunteer crews to tackle the hardest-hit areas of the trail system. We're looking for chainsaw operators (sawyers), volunteers to assist sawyers by moving cut trees and debris, and general trail-clearing volunteers.

Two volunteer shifts:

• Morning: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

• Afternoon: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Volunteers may participate in either shift or both.

Where to Meet: Look for the PORC tent at the UWF trailhead. We'll organize teams and provide directions to the areas needing the most attention.

What We're Working On:

• Chainsaw work and downed tree removal

• Moving cut debris and clearing brush

• Hand clearing blocked trails

• General trail recovery and cleanup

No chainsaw experience is necessary for general trail support. Bring work gloves, sturdy footwear, water, and appropriate outdoor work clothing. Sawyers should bring their own equipment and required protective gear.

Current Trail Status – November 2

Games Side: Donkey Kong*, 720*, Sparkleberry, Twister

Main Side: Pate Trail*, Wolfpelt, Treehugger, Death Trap, Sand Trap, Wantz Way, CokeCan, Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, 4 Dogs, Gorge*, Bone

Trails marked with an asterisk have been hand-trimmed but still need chainsaw work. Unmarked trails still need hand clearing.

Cleared trails will be removed from this list. Trails will be marked OPEN on Trailforks as mowing is completed.

Check Trailforks for updates and use its geolocation feature to mark downed trees.

Already working on the trails? Join the PORC Community Hub and let us know what you've completed.

Every volunteer hour helps us get closer to reopening the UWF trail system!
