  • The Pensacola Foo Foo Festival Committee announced up to $500,000 in grant funding for its thirteenth edition scheduled for Oct. 29-Nov. 9—Letters of Intent must be submitted by March 6 at noon CT.  Rick's Blog
  • At UWF’s Education Research Library, locals gathered yesterday to craft junk journals as a break from screens + organizer Ashley Byrd said the event helped people relax and connect over hands-on creativity.  WUWF
  • Pensacola will host Mardi Gras festivities starting Thursday, Feb. 12 at the Bay Center with Mardi Gras Mambo headlined by Waka Flocka Flame + Friday sees the Krewe of Lafitte Parade at 7:30 p.m. downtown, and the Grand Mardi Gras Parade will run Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. downtown.  WEAR-TV
  • Pensacola Beach’s Tuesday night Bands on the Beach returns on April 7 with a lineup featuring new and familiar musical acts (presented by Santa Rosa Island Authority). The free concerts run from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gulfside Pavilion.  Local Pulse

  • Reimagine Palafox construction is in its fifth week with utility work finished on Feb. 6; Palafox Street will complete May 24 while intersections remain closed until November. Down downtown, parade routes will shift on Feb. 13 and 14 for Mardi Gras events so drivers should plan alternate routes.  Rick's Blog

  • The Visit Pensacola Sun Belt Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships begin Tuesday, March 3 at the Pensacola Bay Center. Families can enjoy free events (Fan Fest and Dribble Drive for kids) on Saturday, March 7 while the tournament runs through March 9.  WEAR-TV
  • Pensacola Catholic's girls soccer team beat Florida High 1-0 on Tuesday, Feb. 10 thanks to key saves by goalkeeper Lily Rodriguez, and they will face South Walton in a Region 1-3A final rematch on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.  Pensacola News Journal

  • Five Pensacola area boys basketball teams qualified for the state playoffs as announced on Feb. 9. Milton and Booker T. Washington earned automatic bids by winning district tournaments while Pensacola, Pensacola Catholic and L.E.A.D.
