Reeves named retired Rear Admiral Lance Scott as the new port director, while Holt’s Nathan Boyles clinched the GOP nomination for a Florida House seat. AccuWeather forecasted a volatile hurricane season with 13 to 18 named storms—three to five may grow into major hurricanes, and local restaurateur Jacob Calloway opened Lou’s Pizza to bring New York-style pies to Pensacola. - ➤ Felix's Restaurant closed suddenly last month and its former space was approved for sublease by the Santa Rosa Island Authority to Pensacola Beach Holdings Inc. during the March 26 meeting for a new restaurant and bar called Bounce Beach Pensacola led by BrandIt Hospitality Group from New York; the venue at 400 Quietwater Beach Road Suite 16 is planned to seat about 450 guests. - ➤ A contingent from the University of Florida will be in Pensacola mid-April to collect oral histories about local pollution at One Palafox Place—residents can sign up or walk in for interviews lasting from 30 minutes to 45 minutes scheduled for Saturday, April 12.
