ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On May 9th, a Florida high school senior was caught by a rip current along the coast and later pronounced dead at a hospital — he was set to graduate on May 15 and NOAA announced it will launch a rip current risk map in 2025 to warn of storm-related dangers. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ Pensacola-area food truck Meat Candy BBQ, famous for its pork belly burnt ends, now serves at American Legion Post 378’s new home in Gulf Breeze from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. - ➤ Lawyers filed a federal lawsuit in Pensacola federal court for Senior Airman Roger Fortson’s family, saying that on May 3, 2024, Deputy Eddie Duran shot him at his door even though he held his gun down—accusing the sheriff’s office and apartment management of mishandling a false disturbance report.
