- ➤ Santa Rosa County sisters Kimberly Lovitt and Amy Williams were sentenced to 36 months — three years — and 18 months in federal prison after they embezzled $844K from a Pensacola business using employer-issued cards, according to federal prosecutors. Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ Pensacola police are investigating a stabbing at Pensacola Village on May 23 — a woman was injured in the chest and an unknown male suspect fled the scene. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ A magnitude 3.1 earthquake was recorded on Friday, May 23rd at about 2:41 p.m. in the Gulf about 70 miles southwest of Pensacola Beach at a depth of 6.2 miles— the first quake near the area since a 2.0 event was recorded in Jay on Sept. 3rd, 2020. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ Pensacola Energy customers faced a rate increase decision after City Council approved a $15.9 million settlement over unlawful franchise fees that depleted the utility’s reserve fund — a move confirmed by City Attorney Adam Cobb — which will force higher natural gas rates to rebuild the reserves.
