- ➤ Build team registrations and sponsorships for PensaCAN 2025 are accepted through September 4 by AIA Florida Northwest for a community event that challenges groups to build food-can structures for a display and donation to Manna at Cordova Mall from October 3—October 10. - ➤ Mayor Reeves reported that Pensacola recorded 10 traffic deaths in 2025—8 linked to speeding and 6 involving motorcycles, with 3 occurring at the 14th and Gregory intersection near the Chappie James Bridge; city officials will work with FDOT to add speed trailers and boost enforcement. - ➤ On August 27, a Pensacola man pleaded guilty to drug trafficking after police recovered over 830 grams of methamphetamine from his dropped backpack following a chase that ended when he hit a pole and parked vehicle—law enforcement agencies worked together to halt his crime. - ➤ Outgoing Pensacola city administrator Tim Kinsella said he asked former Police Chief Eric Randall to leave amid a Florida DOGE audit review—he warned that local progress will suffer if culture war politics continue, noting that all city spending is approved by the council.
