- ➤ University of West Florida earned its highest ranking yet in the U.S. News and World Report’s 2026 Best College rankings by placing No. 6 among Top Public Schools — Regional South, marking its fourth straight year in the top 10. - ➤ Women in Aviation International Gulf Coast Chapter and the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation will host the fourth annual Girls in Aviation Gulf Coast 2025 event on November 1 at the National Naval Aviation Museum from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A $5 nonrefundable fee is required—attendees will join STEM activities and meet female aviation professionals in fields like piloting, air traffic control, and aircraft maintenance. - ➤ Pensacola will begin a discount parking program on Oct. 1 for residents who verify their address with ParkMobile or text-to-pay—offering a rate of 50 cents per hour versus $1 for non-residents—and residents 65 and older can apply for a $10 monthly permit to park without using the app. Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves sent legislative priorities only to some delegation members, which led Rep.
