- ➤ Pensacola began building the Pallet Shelter Village at 1551 W. Moreno St. on Oct. 6 where the city spent $1.1 million to purchase 14 one-room pallet shelters and a restroom trailer and Re-Entry Alliance Pensacola will manage the site with case management. The project will be ready for occupancy by the Monday before Thanksgiving to provide safe transitional housing for the homeless. Pensacola News Journal

- ➤ Oar House restaurant marks 20 years this fall and now offers a relaxed taste of Pensacola’s past as the old Bayou Chico drawbridge no longer delays traffic—its outdoor deck replaces long waits with a breezy, seaside dining experience.
