- ➤ Naval Air Station Pensacola reopens today at 9 a.m. through the West Gate after a funding lapse closed the base for over 40 days. Visitors can access the National Naval Aviation Museum and Pensacola Lighthouse — public access ends at 3 p.m. and those over 18 must show a REAL ID or passport. Pensacola News Journal
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The 49th annual Stepping Out in Style Fashion Show, presented by the Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation, raised over $163,000 to support Gulf Breeze Hospital as it celebrated 40 years of service and planned future expansions. Local sponsors Emerald Coast Hospice and Old South Construction backed the fundraiser. Pensacola News Journal
- ➤ Covenant Health and Community Services Foundation donated $170,000 to restore the full 5-day hot lunch program for seniors at 16 sites in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties starting Nov. 12 through Dec. 31—federal funding will replace the donation on Jan. 1 to continue the service with existing clients only.
