- ➤ Flora-Bama celebrates the 50th birthday of the Bushwacker cocktail today at 17401 Perdido Key Drive from noon to 5:30 p.m. with live music, drink specials, themed food and giveaways, and a raffle drawing at 4:30 p.m.—with prizes including a free trip to St. Thomas and free Bushwackers for a year—marking the event as a major local celebration. - ➤ Pensacola Beach has seen a sharp rise in traffic days from fewer than 15 in past years to 56 in 2024 — a level that has overwhelmed its aging infrastructure while advanced technology and manual controls work to ease congestion. - ➤ The Florida Department of Transportation completed a $9M safety project on a 3.6-mile stretch of North Palafox Street from Cervantes to Brent, upgrading traffic signals, curb and gutter, pavement markings and sidewalks meeting ADA requirements. The project also resurfaced US 29, reconstructed an intersection, added 7 foot bicycle lanes with 6 foot shoulders and new crosswalks at key intersections — efforts that boost road safety.
